Title: A Dexter's Laboratory movie idea of my own

Creation Date: August 1, 2010

Timbox's post

I have a Dexter's Laboratory movie idea of my own. It is a serious big screen, big budget Dexter's Laboratory fantasy epic, with a character like one of Dee Dee's friends, Lee Lee, being the central focus. Unlike most animated features of the 21st century, it would be a 2D animated feature film project. And it would boldly go where no 2D animated feature since the Disney Animation Renaissance of the 1990's, Disney, or not, have gone before. That Dexter's Laboratory movie idea of mine could be...

Dexter's Laboratory: Avatar

SPOILER WARNING: DO NOT CONFUSE WITH JAMES CAMERON'S AVATAR AND/OR NICKELODEON'S AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER, AND THEREFORE, DO NOT ASSOCIATE WITH BOTH SUCH PROJECTS, EVEN THOUGH THEY BOTH HAVE THE WORD 'AVATAR' IN THEIR TITLE.

I describe Dexter's Laboratory: Avatar as:

The epic saga of three ballerina tutu-wearings girls (Dee Dee, Lee Lee, and Mee Mee) and one little boy genius (Dexter) at the start of an epic journey. A journey to save the world from the dark forces of evil.

Dexter's Laboratory: Avatar may also be a big screen big budget 2D animated feature film spin-off of one of Cartoon Network's classic hit series "Dexter's Laboratory"

And here's what the plot synopsis would be like:

"In the mythical lands of Timboxia, 10,000 years ago, Dee Dee's girly friends, Lee Lee and Mee Mee, come over for a sleepover, and Dee Dee's brother, Dexter, a young boy genius with an extraordinary mind, tried to learn about them and their activities. Fortunately, Dexter finally finds love in the form of one of Dee Dee's friends, Lee Lee (He did so without disgracing Dee Dee, Mee Mee, Dexter's mom and dad with no names, and everyone else in his community and neighborhood), discovering that girls like Dee Dee, Lee Lee, and Mee Mee, are not always enemies, rivals, or pests anymore.

"But Lee Lee has a secret--she was hiding in Dexter's neighborhood since she was a newborn baby to avoid capture from the forces of evil. And she's no ordinary girl who loves ballet or any cutesy stuff and toys. She is the 'Avatar of Timboxia', who is also born a 'Princess of Shangara', and made up by some soldiers in the armies of good, many thousands of years ago and have ever since been told through myth, legend, rumors, and even speculation. The forces of evil were defeated then, but according to that ancient prophecy, Lee Lee, as the Avatar, is destined to end the reign of their evil leader, the malevolent Dark Lord, Mandark, therefore saving the world from being plunged by Mandark into an endless night of apocalyptic evil. Lee Lee and Dexter still show their love for each other, even without realizing that Mandark the Dark Lord has discovered their romantic relationship (and finds out that Dexter is courting Lee Lee, the Asian girl, The 'Princess of Shangara' and the so-called 'Avatar of Timboxia' that Mandark fears above anyone else), and is planning to conquer and enslave the forces of good once and for all, by reaching the community that includes Dexter's house and top-secret laboratory.

"When they learn what's at stake (especially regarding Lee Lee's true birthright as a Shangaran Princess and as an Avatar), everyone (including Dexter's teacher, Mr. Luvinsky, Dexter's mom and dad, and even his friend Douglas E. Mordechai III) in Dexter's neighborhood instructs Dexter, Dee Dee, Lee Lee, and Mee Mee to leave the suburbs for their own safety. But Mandark's forces (such as Strong Borgs) as well as predatory dinosaurs (like T-Rexes, Raptors, and even a Spinosaurus) are hot on Dexter, Dee Dee, Lee Lee, and Mee Mee's trail and pursue them mercilessly. However, Dexter, Dee Dee, Lee Lee, and Mee Mee form a band of just four young Toona'kaiya tasked with the seemingly impossible goal of fulfilling Lee Lee the Avatar's destiny, which is to destroy the Dark Lord Mandark and his powers once and for all. But in order to do so, Dexter, Dee Dee, Lee Lee, and Mee Mee will have to travel across the lands of Timboxia to the volcanic fires of Mount Nostradamus where Mandark was originally born and made...straight into the very heart of Evil itself!

"And so begins the Avatar's Quest to defeat the evil Dark Lord Mandark and his Dark Forces."

I think One of Dee Dee's friends, Lee Lee (the Asian girl that I've seemed to prefer out of Dee Dee, Lee Lee, and Dee Dee's black friend, Mee Mee) should be the central female character in Dexter's Laboratory: Avatar, the central female focus and heroine, the Princess of Shangara, and even the 'Avatar' of the title, a earthy and spiritual earthbound Asian female heroine and warrior girl (and a female version of Samurai Jack, to say the least) that should lead the fight against the evil Dark Forces of the Dark Lord Mandark, who according to prophecy, Lee Lee would destroy in the volcanic fires where Mandark was made and from which Mandark was born.

I think a facility like Skywalker Sound and/or the like will provide the post production sound, sound effects, and even the sound design work and services for Dexter's Laboratory: Avatar, while the music for Dexter's Laboratory: Avatar (done by somebody like Mark Mancina (composer of films like Speed, Twister, Disney'sTarzan and not to mention, Disney's Brother Bear) or so) will be a combination of traditional orchestra, electronic sounds, ethereal choirs, ethnic instruments, ethnic vocals, ethnic woodwinds and even ethnic percussion.

I think Dexter's Laboratory: Avatar could be made in either Cinemascope 2.35:1 or maybe using two different aspect ratios; if it's 72 hours long or so, Dexter's Laboratory: Avatar could open in a standard 1.85:1 aspect ratio, and, after approximately 2 hours or so, (right after Dexter, Dee Dee, Lee Lee, and Mee Mee started leaving their neighborhood and community to venture into a wider outside world or so), the aspect ratio could widen, or expand, into Cinemascope's 2.35:1 aspect ratio for the rest of the movie project or so (with the 1.85:1 scenes pillar-boxed within the 2.35:1 frame itself during the first 2 hours or so)

And I think even if it could be considered an epic film project, and even if it could be the most expensive animated cartoon (TV or Big Screen) ever made, and even if it could be the longest animated cartoon ever made and of all time or so (at a running time like 72 hours or so,but hopefully, itcouldsometimes be released and presented in twelve volumes (be it 3 hours, or be it 4, 5 or 6 hours or so)), and even besides the Disney animated features, past and present, the Pixar movies, the films of Hayao Miyazaki, and not to mention, the 1988 Japanese Anime Classic, AKIRA, Dexter's Laboratory: Avatar is going to be one of, if not the greatest animated movie ever made, 2D hand drawn or 3D CGI, Disney, or not. Andinaddition, even in the 21st century,Dexter's Laboratory: Avatar is going to be one of the greatest stories ever told (excluding stories from the Bible)

And so would  THAT be great or awesome or good or what? Just an idea.
